Throwing fruit and veggies in a blender and making something delicious to drink isn’t something new – people have been juicing and making smoothies for eons. What is new, however, is something I found early in 2010 called the “green monster movement” started by Angela Liddon of Oh She Glows.
But I digress…
With the focus of ensuring that you “eat your greens” these smoothies are a fast and healthy way to get a powerful boost of vitamins and minerals as well as satiate your thirst. And while it can be as simple as throwing a bunch of things into your blender, those who have already faced the trials and tribulations of finding just the right mixture of ingredients have been kind enough to share there knowledge.
One of the most informative primers to green monster smoothies I’ve found so far is by Diana at The Chic Life. Her post is great because she talks through some popular ingredients as well as provides advice on the best order to blend the ingredients.
She also includes a list of recipes to try from other bloggers so you’ll not only have a great green monster starting point but possibly be introduced to some new healthy living blogs.
