Food Pyramid vs. MyPlate – Is The USDA Still Missing The Mark?

In June of this year, the USDA launched updated recommendations on the dietary guidelines for Americans. The pyramid has been replaced with a plate, MyPlate, to be exact.

Some people were pleased to see the new visual because it is something families can more easily relate to, but not everyone feels the “healthy plate” is the best explanation of what our daily intake should entail.

Which do you prefer – the pyramid or the plate?
